Raíces of Kern Mission
At Raíces of Kern, our mission is to inspire, enlighten, and strengthen the people of Kern County—students, graduates, and aspiring entrepreneurs—through access to education-focused resources. From mentorship and scholarships to community support and cultural celebration, we’re here to create opportunity for those who dream big but may not always have a seat at the table. We believe that investing in our community, particularly within the Latino/a population and other underserved groups, creates ripple effects of growth, pride, and long-term success.

En Raíces of Kern, nuestra misión es inspirar, iluminar y fortalecer a la gente del Condado de Kern—estudiantes, graduados y emprendedores en desarrollo—a través del acceso a recursos enfocados en la educación. Desde mentoría y becas hasta apoyo comunitario y celebración cultural, trabajamos para crear oportunidades para quienes sueñan en grande pero no siempre tienen un lugar asegurado. Creemos que invertir en nuestra comunidad, especialmente en la población Latina y otros grupos marginados, genera un impacto duradero de crecimiento, orgullo y éxito colectivo.

Our vision is unapologetically powerful: to uplift and empower the next generation of Kern County leaders—whether in classrooms, businesses, or community spaces—by breaking down barriers to education and economic mobility. We aim to increase college degree attainment, elevate Latino/a representation in professional spaces, and build a future where higher education, entrepreneurship, and community leadership are not privileges, but expectations. We’re not just investing in diplomas—we’re investing in dignity, legacy, and the future we all deserve..

Nuestra visión es, sin disculpas, poderosa: elevar y empoderar a la próxima generación de líderes del Condado de Kern—ya sea en aulas, negocios o espacios comunitarios—eliminando barreras hacia la educación y la movilidad económica. Buscamos aumentar la obtención de títulos universitarios, elevar la representación Latina en espacios profesionales y construir un futuro donde la educación superior, el emprendimiento y el liderazgo comunitario no sean privilegios, sino expectativas. No solo estamos invirtiendo en diplomas, estamos invirtiendo en dignidad, legado y el futuro que todos merecemos.
