Raíces of Kern is proud to partner with Youth 2 Leaders Education Foundation (Y2L) — a nonprofit organization committed to expanding access to higher education for students across Kern County.
Y2L works to ensure that the next generation of Kern County youth not only dreams of college, but has the support and resources to get there. Their mission is to increase the number of local students who pursue and complete a higher education, whether at a community college, state university, or private institution.
Together, we’re building a pipeline of support, mentorship, and opportunity — because our community’s future deserves investment.
Our scholarships are open to undergraduate & Graduate college students in Kern County who:
Identify as part of the Latinx/Hispanic community (or underserved backgrounds)
Are pursuing a college degree or vocational education
Demonstrate academic effort, community involvement, and leadership
